The Rural Health Information Hub (RHIhub) will be hosting a webinar covering the new Rural Emergency Hospital (REH) operating model next week on Jan. 19 at 1p.m. CST.

REH was created by Congress in the December 2020 Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA), and is meant to allow a critical access hospital or small rural hospital to continue providing 24-hour emergency services, but not provide inpatient care if the facility has less than 50 beds.

From RHIhub: “This webinar will highlight a new report from the National Advisory Committee on Rural Health and Human Services that summarizes the statutory requirements for REHs, examines implications for various federal entities likely to be involved in their administration, and makes recommendations to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to ensure the success of the REH model.”

The webinar is free to attend.
