The federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has made available $25.5 billion in new funding to cover COVID-19 expenses for health care providers.
$17 billion of the funds will be allocated for providers who have documented loss of revenue due to the current pandemic, between July 1, 2020 and March 31, 2021. $8.5 billion will be in the American Rescue Plan funds for providers who provider services to rural Medicaid, Medicare, and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) patients.
Health care providers can apply for both funding streams starting Sept. 29.
